Without a strong region, there is no strong Hungarian economy, HUF 1,800 billion in development funds will be delivered to Hungarian settlements in the coming years, said Minister of Finance Mihály Varga in a video uploaded to his community page. He added that this means that rural settlements will receive nearly 40 per cent more development funding, according to the government’s decision, than between 2014 and 2020. These resources will also help strengthen the local economy, improve employment and develop municipal public services.

Most of the support will be directed to the less developed regions, therefore two thirds of the budget will go to the counties of the Southern Great Plain, Southern Transdanubia, the Northern Great Plain and Northern Hungary.

Prior to 2010, unemployment hit rural Hungary harder than Budapest. The policy of the Fidesz-KDNP government is not for people to migrate in search of work and a better life, but for jobs to be created where they are needed. The figure below illustrates the increase in per capita income in rural areas and the decrease in "scissors" between Budapest and rural settlements.

By tying family benefits to work, tax cuts, cheap energy, job creation and training subsidies, we have achieved 1,000,000 new jobs in 10 years and a record employment rate: they have never worked as much since the change of regime as they do now. Due to low unemployment, it is no longer the employee who is in a vulnerable position, but the employer, as he cannot keep the man in check with the prospect of dismissal. Kick me? What will happen then? Nothing! We will have another job!

Today, the employee is in a negotiating position, and that has a good effect on wages as well!

So the gap has narrowed and the trend is still falling! Let us stay on this path, let us not vote for the past, let us support the future!

1276 km of roads on 480 sections were renewed in 2021 out of 220 billion

No credit, no PPP!

A quarter more road sections have been rehabilitated or at least started in 2021 compared to the originally planned thousand kilometers. The majority of the interventions were made possible by the resources of the Hungarian Village Program aimed at improving the quality of life in rural areas. Since 2017, the reconstruction of a total of 175 kilometers of expressway has been completed, while maintaining traffic.

The proper technical condition of public roads is important for the Hungarian people, businesses and the entire economy. The government is mobilizing a significant amount of resources to address the significant maintenance backlog accumulated before 2010. Over the past decade, more than six thousand kilometers have been rehabilitated, mainly inferior roads, the communication said.

A total of 480 sections will be renewed in the investments of Magyar Közút that will be completed or launched in 2021. The total value of the developments covering more than 1,250 kilometers exceeds HUF 220 billion. Half of the expenditures were provided by the Hungarian Village Program for strengthening the population retention capacity of small settlements. Projects funded by the program accounted for more than four-fifths of the road sections affected by this year's interventions, and nearly two-thirds of the improved mileage.

“Hungary is moving forward, not backwards: in 2021, we continued to renovate the main roads and side roads with even greater momentum than before. 1276 kilometers of work to improve traffic safety is a decade-long record.

In county counties, the podium counties of Tolna, Bács-Kiskun and Borsod are followed by Szabolcs, Pest, Fejér and Heves. In the last five years, the motorway sections around Budapest and Lake Balaton have also been renewed for a significant length of time. A multifunctional hall has been created, the primary users of which are local and regional sports players. The Tatabánya Sports Club is one of the five prominent rural sports associations, so it will receive HUF 300 million a year for five years to carry out youth education in the fields of athletics, wrestling, judo, boxing and fencing - János Bencsik reminded.
