The handball hall with a capacity of more than 6,000 seats in Tatabánya, with a capacity of more than 6,000 seats, was handed over in Tatabánya, which will also be the reserve venue for the European Men's Handball Championship in 2022, MTI reported. At the handover ceremony, Máté Kocsis, the president of the Hungarian Handball Association, said that the Tatabánya Arena, the MVM Dome in Budapest, also built for the European Handball Championship in 2022, and the largest handball hall in Hungary after the PICK Arena in Szeged and the renewed Phoenix Arena. The hall will house the local Grundfos Tatabánya KC team.
Roland Juhász, Secretary of State for Public Assets, emphasized that
THE 19,000-SQUARE-METER SPORTS ARENA HAS 6,200 SITES IN FIXED AND MOVABLE STANDS. THE INDEPENDENT PART OF THE INVESTMENT IS A FITTING ROOM WITH A CAPACITY OF 20 PASSES.
The Secretary of State added that the government provided an additional HUF 1.8 billion for the equipment of the facility and that the institution would be maintained from state funds.
János Bencsik, the parliamentary representative of the Tatai Basin, said that a community space had been created with the handover of the hall. The government has provided the conditions for the investment under the Modern Cities program. A multifunctional hall has been created, the primary users of which are local and regional sports players. The Tatabánya Sports Club is one of the five prominent rural sports associations, so it will receive HUF 300 million a year for five years to carry out youth education in the fields of athletics, wrestling, judo, boxing and fencing - János Bencsik reminded.
The construction was carried out by Fejér B.Á.L. Zrt. And a consortium of Épkar Zrt. In addition to its role as a builder, BMSK Zrt., As the investment agency, performed the technical inspection and design control tasks, and the consortium of FŐBER Zrt. - Győrber Kft.
The inaugural match of the facility will be played against Veszprém in the beginning of February.
