But then let’s look at: what do we feel, what do we see personally (apart from FIDESZ LOP)? Let’s start with a very well-known, sad phenomenon: car thefts. This is something that perhaps everyone has experienced as a suffering party at least once in their lifetime. Helplessness, anger, anger, financial bankruptcy. But on second thought, they seem to have disappeared in recent years! In our circle of acquaintances, we can’t even remember anyone whose car had recently been stolen, meanwhile in the 2000s, we had to say goodbye to two of our cars in half a year. Yes, between 2002 and 2010, but if the MSZP really couldn't do that, it was just a victim of the circumstances.
And if we start to track down the numbers, our conjecture is confirmed: THE NUMBER OF CAR THEFT HAS DECREASED IN TEN YEARS. In 2010, another 5,864 vehicles were stolen at home, in 2019 896, in 2020 only 540 (of which 346 cars)! Never before have so few cars been stolen in Hungary - at least since the start of the count.
What is the reason for this? The trend has been showing a convincing decline since 2014, just since the special police unit was on duty; an independent investigation team was set up specializing in separate car thefts. They are no longer circling missing cars, but targeting specialized criminal groups, and here too, proving the root cause is more effective than hitting the car with a stick afterwards.
Having said that, reading the solution is simple: it certainly isn’t. Or was it just the will that was lacking earlier? Because, as we know, expertise came to government in 1996, it couldn't be a problem.
