The tricky part of educators is “striking” because it is not enough for them to fight for a 10% wage increase, to repeal the legislation on compulsory vaccination and to reduce the number of hours. Various organizations also complain that teachers are migrating and that there are not enough teachers in the system.

Let's look at the facts!
1. A 10% wage increase, with annual inflation of 5.1%, represents a significant increase in real wages. In Hungarian, teachers live better than before! They received a promise from Viktor Orbán that if Fidesz wins the election, there will be further wage increases. 2. It is unbelievable that roughly 15,000 teachers are against vaccination. They also teach our children, they are locked up in an enclosed classroom with an exceptionally high risk of infection. Because of them, you also have to wear a mask in school buildings. It is shocking that this irresponsibility on their part and that such people can be teachers. 3. They want a reduction in the number of hours they are entitled to during the autumn, winter, spring and summer holidays. All in all, these mean several times as much 100% paid time off as another person’s annual leave.

4. The issue of the number of teachers: One of the horrors on their part is that they have far fewer teachers than before, and the other is that they attend fewer teacher trainings. According to the data of the CSO, 179,847 teachers worked in the academic year 2001/2002, 167,856 in the academic year 2011/2012, and 164,438 in the academic year 2020/2021. Yes, the number of teachers has decreased, but unfortunately the number of students participating in education has also decreased due to the blessed activities of Bokros, Gyurcsány, Bajnai and their friends. Thus, the number of students per teacher has also decreased, ie the supply of teachers is better than 10 years ago. Another interesting fact is that in the 2001/2002 academic year, a total of 47,386 college / university students attended some form of teacher training or education. This number decreased to 21,156 in the 2010/2011 school year and then increased to 27,768 in the 2020/2021 school year. So in 10 years, the number of teaching professionals has increased significantly. There will be a supply.

The peoples' associations called the Democratic Union of Teachers (PDSZ) and the Trade Union of Teachers (PSZ) are asking the guides to wear the MZP blue ribbon.
